Obituary – Anne Elizabeth “Betty” Patricia DeSouza (nee Pinheiro)
Message from the family.
It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Anne Elizabeth “Betty” Patricia DeSouza (nee Pinheiro) who died on January 16, 2023 surrounded lovingly by her family. She was predeceased by her parents Tony and Rosie Pinheiro (Dar es Salaam) and her brothers Peter and David.
She is survived by her husband Anthony “Tony” DeSouza, their two sons Jonathan (Christina), Matthew (Katie-Lynn), and her three grandchildren Sienna, Tristan and Xavier. She also leaves behind her sisters Judy Esmail (Rahim), Louiza Pereira (Kevin), and Emma (Ron) and her in-laws Theresa D’souza (late Armand), Lucy de Sousa (late Pelagio), Rosita De Souza (late Eustace), and Doreen Mendes (Alvaro). She will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends all around the world.
Betty was a devoted wife, a loving mother who was so proud of her sons, and a grandma who loved cooking for her grandchildren. She will also be remembered fondly by many for her cooking prowess. Betty, beautiful in and out! She was first for her family, first for a good life and first in the hearts of all those who knew her.
Her loss leaves a significant hole in the lives of the many who loved her. We trust that her light will live on in all of us.
The funeral will be held at St. Bernadette Parish, Surrey, British Columbia on Friday January 20th at 11:00 am. Livestream details to follow.
