Obituary – Richard Noel Chris Coutinho

December 24, 1953 –  March 25, 2025

Richard Noel Chris Coutinho passed away on March 25, 2025. He was only 71 years old.

The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death. Richard was born on December 24, 1953, in Entebbe, Uganda, a son of Lamartine and Angela Coutinho.

Richard is survived and missed by his loving sister Jocelyn and his brother Edmund, and his nephews and nieces Eric, Katherine, Sean, Meagan, Madison, Cassidy and Diego. Forever cherished and remembered by his great nephews and great-nieces Liam, Levi, Emilie, Sebastian, Gabrielle, Camille and Caleb. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss his cheerful demeanour and unwavering optimism – even in the face of tough challenges.

Richard was preceded in death by his sister Dulcie.

Richard attended Sacred Heart School in Mombasa and then went to Strathmore College in Nairobi. He came to Vancouver in 1973 and obtained his Computer Science degree from BCIT. He worked in IT at CP Air, Canadian Airlines and Safeway North America prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an avid golfer and loved travelling the world with his mother Angela.
