The Goan Overseas Association offers 3 annual scholarships and 1 Award to member applicants. 
  1. G.O.A. Vancouver Scholarship - 2 awards of $250.00
  2. Carnival Cultural Club Scholarship - 1 award of $250.00
  3. Realtor Glen Scholarship - 1 award of $300.00
  4. Baylon and Alice Caldeira ‘Canada 150’ Scholarship   – 1 award of $250 
  5. The G.O.A. Community Service Award

The G.O.A. Vancouver Scholarships 

This Scholarship will be awarded to students who are enrolled full-time in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be determined on the basis of the following criteria:

  1. Academic proficiency;
  2. Extra-curricular activities;
  3. and Social and Community involvement (including involvement in the G.O.A. community).

The Carnival Cultural Club Scholarship 

This Scholarship will be awarded to a student who is enrolled at an institution in a program focused on music, theatre, media arts, or visual arts such as digital media, film, television, and sound recording. This is open to students from Grade 8 onwards with no upper age limit. The award will be determined on the basis of the following criteria:

Display of excellence and promise in music, theatre, media arts, or visual arts.

The RealtorGlen Scholarship

This Scholarship will be awarded to a student who is enrolled in Elementary School and will be determined on the basis of the following criteria:

Display of excellence and promise in music, sports, or arts.  

Students must be either members or dependents of members in good standing to be eligible for these scholarships. 

Applications will be kept confidential and will not be returned to the applicant so please do not include originals.

To be eligible, applicants must submit:

  •     A completed application form (see attached)
  •     A cover letter stating their intention to be considered for the award;
  •     Their parent's names;
  •     Proof of registration;    
  •     A resume;
  •     A reference letter either from the school or the institution; and
  •     Evidence of participation in extracurricular activities and community involvement, including participation in G.O.A. activities.


Baylon and Alice Caldeira ‘Canada 150’ Scholarship

for post-secondary students determined by the following criteria:

  1. Academic proficiency;
  2. Extra-curricular activities

The G.O.A. Community Service Award 

This Award is presented to a member who is recognized as an outstanding volunteer in the association. 

The two Criteria that apply are: 
  1. The recipient will be an individual who contributed most significantly to the annual operation of the association through volunteering his or her time, personal resources, attendance and expertise at Association events. 
  2. The recipient must be a member in good standing, but must not be an Executive Member in the year the award is made.
